Alfred Duncan is a Grammy and Emmy-nominated artist & Sherrell Duncan is a certified fitness trainer and speaker. The two were introduced by a mutual friend in 2007 at a nightclub in Washington, DC.

The two were social media associates for the next several years, and six years later, in 2013 Alfred sent Sherrell a Facebook message to commend her on her weightloss journey. She responded with her phone number.

The first year of their relationship was rocky, but they stuck it out. At the end of 2014, they became a committed couple. Sherrell and Alfred place God in the center of their relationship, which has made their bond unbreakable. They regularly pray and worship together, and are members of Zion Church in Landover, Maryland.  On December 31, 2015, they made a difficult, but necessary decision, and decided to abstain from sex until marriage. As naturally creative people, they have used their experience as a motivation for others with the #GodMadeMeWait hashtag and a fitness class that Sherrell teaches entitled "Fit to Be Intimate" (both programs share their journey of abstinence).
